Here’s why you should never run from the police in Dubai

You should never run from the police in Dubai. You won’t get away. Why? From Ferrari to Lamborghini to Mercedes to Bentley to Bugatti, Dubai Police has an extensive fleet of supercars from different parts of the world. The battalion of supercars is fully-equipped for police duty.

There’s no other major city in the world quite like Dubai. Located on the Persian Gulf on the edge of the Arabian Desert, the city has transformed from a small outpost to a major international trade center in a matter of decades. Known as “the shopping capital of the Middle East,” it’s one of the wealthiest cities in the world, and has become a major international tourist destination. With such a high concentration of wealth, Dubai is also home to some of the most mouthwatering supercars on the planet. So many, in fact, that some even turn up abandoned in the desert (which I’ll probably write about in near future).

With these impossibly fast dream cars lining Dubai’s streets, how do you keep them from speeding through one of the busiest tourist destinations in the world? Well Dubai police think that the best way to fight speed is with speed. Sure, police forces in other countries (Italy, Germany..) have a few halo cars that are great for promotional purposes, but a list of the Dubai Police fleet reads like a who’s who of supercars.

Here are just a few of them, which make the Dubai Police fleet the envy of every patrolman in the world:

  • Bugatti 16.4 Veyron
  • McLaren MP4-12C
  • Ferrari FF
  • Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
  • BMW M6
  • Nissan GT-R
  • Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG Brabus
  • Audi R8
  • Bentley Continental GT
  • Aston Martin One-77
  • Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4
  • Lexus RC-F
  • Ford Mustang GT
  • Chevrolet Camaro SS
  • BMW i8

And the list goes on and on..

No police department in the world does public relations quite like the Dubai Police. Its fleet of supercars has raised the department’s profile to global levels, and with each new car, the department stays in the headlines for the right reasons. The cars may see little of the daily wear and tear that most police cars endure, but their function is equally as important. Dubai is one of the wealthiest and desirable cities in the world and its unique fleet of police supercars is a reminder of why Dubai is unlike anyplace else on earth.
