What does Nico Rosberg need to be a Champion?

So here we are at last. A showdown between two men who have battled it out over the last 20 races will end on Sunday at Yas Marina Circuit. Who will win the title of 2016 F1 Champion?

Will it be Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg, who is seeking to win his first driver’s F1 title. Or it will be his Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton, who needs nothing less than a Yas Marina miracle to snatch his third title in a row?

Rosber sticking to the same approach…

The German holds a 12-point lead over his team mate Hamilton going into the race weekend and if he finishes third or higher he will follow in the footsteps of his father, Keke, the 1982 world champion. Rosberg has finished second to Hamilton in the past three races in the United States, Mexico and Brazil, and has seen a lead of 33 points whittled down. But despite only needing a podium finish, Rosberg, is staying focused to go out and try to win the title in style by repeating his victory from a year ago in Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

“I will give it everything to end the season with a win,” the German says.

“In Brazil, after the race, I was joking that I would still be taking things one race at a time. But, the more I think about it, the more that’s actually not as crazy as it sounds. I have to treat this like any other race.”

“Doing a good job on a Grand Prix weekend is always a challenge. Nothing in this sport is easy, so this won’t be any different and I still have to go all out for a good result.”

Hamilton knows odds are against him…

“It’s not been a perfect season and I’m faced with pretty impossible odds no matter what I do this weekend,”he says. “But I can’t and won’t give up. You never know what might happen – however unlikely it may seem.”

“I’m approaching this weekend the same as I do every race. I want to win and I’ll give it everything to finish the season on a high.”

“I’m happy I beat everyone in Brazil. I’m happy that with the same car I beat Nico and Nico is driving at his best right now and on Sunday he had nothing on me. I’m happy that we as a team are continuing to make history.”
