Debut of the 724 hp Audi Prologue Allroad Concept in Shanghai

Audi has once again shown us a new addition to their Prologue family. After the Prologue coupe that debuted at the L.A. auto show and the Avant wagon that was on display in Geneva they have now introduced the newest member: the Audi Prologue Allroad.

Though it might look quite modest on the outside sporting the subtle white hue, it’s far from shy power wise! The concept car is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 accompanied by not one but two turbos and a plug-in hybrid electro motor producing a back breaking 724 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. Staying true to the source, the power is channeled to all four wheels.

The sprint from 0-62mph should only take 3.5 seconds, says Audi, while reaching more than economical 98 mpg. Hidden below the cargo area lies a 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery that enables the Audi Prologue Allroad to cover 33.6 miles of eco, emission free driving. It is also been said that it can be charged wirelessly using Audi’s inductive charging rig (rumors are going around, that it has started it’s was towards production).

On the outside the Allroad quite closely resembles it’s predecessor, the Avant wagon concept as is already a tradition with the Allroad models. It sports air suspension and split spoke 22-inch wheels that cover the massive 20-inch carbon-ceramic brakes. It sits approximately three inches higher than the wagon version.

Inside of the Prologue Allroad concept, we can see four bucket seats placed on either side of a full length center console. Audi’s virtual cockpit is of course the center of attention on the dashboard, with three levels of information readouts projected towards the drivers field of view. The front passenger will also be treated to a touch screen display located right in front of them.

Rear passenger have the option of controlling the climate and infotainment systems settings via OLED displays. To keep them distracted Audi also added branded tablets to the back of the front seats.

The car also features Audi’s “butler” concept, meaning the passengers’ smartphones automatically connect and adjust the seats, climate and other settings to their liking.
