Prepare yourself guys, because the Bugatti Chiron is bound to be ridiculously good.
It was first revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016. It’s a massive feat of engineering underneath quite the gorgeous shell. It’s the whole package, really. From looks to its features, there isn’t any division in which the Bugatti Chiron lacks in luxury. This beast on wheels is worth a ride to be explored.
To your delight, we have summed up 10 must know facts about this ultimate humanly-created masterpiece.
#1 Named after the legendary Louis Alexandre Chiron
The Bugatti Chiron isn’t just any other car but is a complete package of uniqueness. The hypercar has been named after the sports car maestro, Louis Alexandre Chiron, a famous Bugatti test driver. He is best known for being the oldest contender of a Grand Prix event.
#2 It will be powered by 1,500 ponies
How the…? Yup, that’s a lot of power. It gets it from an 8.0-liter, quad-turbocharged, W-16 engine. You still wonder how? It will hit 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in less than 2.5 seconds and it could reach the speed of 288 mph (464 km/h) which currently makes it the fastest production car in the world. We wrote about fastest cars in the world in one of our previous articles.
#3 That top speed won’t stay limited forever
It’s electronically programmed not to go over the 288 mph (464 km/h) limit. But it can probably go even faster! Imagine pushing it to 500 km/h!?
#4 Its engine takes seven days to build, whole car takes five months
You’ll have to wait five months to get your Chiron built and probably even more to be delivered. Only engine takes a week to build. Worth the wait? I think yes!
#5 Has a fuel tank capacity of 100 liters
A fuel tank capacity of 100 liters is no joke for a sports car but being a hyper car, the Bugatti Chiron consumes all of its juice within a few minutes of reaching its top speed. Fascinating! Isn’t it?
#6 It’s definitely not a light car
Unsurprisingly, the Chiron is no featherweight. It weights almost 2 tons, more exact 1,995 kilograms which is nearly 4,400 pounds. Only engine weights 960 pounds and 265 pounds the transmission.
#7 It boasts with 7-speed drive
Equipped with a lag-less 7-speed automatic transmission, the Chiron comes with a direct shift dual-clutch gearbox that enables the four wheel drive.
#8 It has been known to draw inspiration from Bugatti Vision GT and it is the successor to the famous Bugatti Veyron
The car’s concept is somewhat uber cool and unique from all perspectives but it has been known to draw inspirations in styling from the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo concept. It is also believe to follow the same tracks as that of its predecessor, Bugatti Veyron, the world’s former fastest car.
#9 It has been tagged at an unbelievable price of $2.6 million
This has instantly earned it the fame of being one of the most expensive luxury cars produced to the day.
#10 It will be available in the market by the dawn of 2017
It is already clear from the Geneva Motor Show that productions of Chiron have already started and this limited edition sports car is expected to be available in the market by the end of 2016 or more probably, by the dawn of 2017.
