The new Golf R is a formidable car on the road with its 2.0-liter turbo engine putting out 270hp to all four wheels. But it is no match for the supercars of today. Or is it?
Tuning experts from HGP have decided to test this by replacing the stock engine with the VW Passat R36 3.6-liter V6 and strapping on two additional turbos. The power is transferred to the wheels via double clutch gearbox from an Audi RS3.
The resulting madness produces 700 hp and 820 Nm of torque, pushing the car from 0-100 kmh in less then 3.5 seconds and then shooting off to 200 kmh in mere 5.5 seconds.
The best thing about the modification? It remained completely stock on the outside, giving the appearance of a sleeper if ever there was a time to call the Golf R that.
Oh as for the race with the Lamborghini Huracan? Check it out below!
