ABT is one of Germany’s most important Audi tuners. They transformed the Audi RS6 Avant from a powerful load lugger to a furiously fast estate car.

With 700 hp and 880 Nm of torque to offer, power is up by 25% over the original 560 hp, Vmax is increased too, up to 320 km/h. The ABT Audi RS6 Avant features an innovative ABT engine control unit and an ABT exhaust system and slight engine management modifications. It will reach 100 km/h in no more than 3.4 seconds.

This particular ABT Audi RS6 is driven by an unknown but pretty damned good driver. Hey, he even looks like Fernando Alonso! He is clearly driving it very aggressively and destroying everyone on one of the most demanding tracks in the world, the Nürburgring. Well done sir!

Like it or not, because this Ferrari 348 TS is absolutely nuts!

Why on earth would anyone dare to modify a Ferrari in such a controversial way? Ginpei Yamaguchi from Hokkaido, Japan, is the man behind this one-of-a-kind onikyan-style Ferrari 348 TS and here is the answer. As far he remember, he has loved three things in the automotive world: drifting, stance and classic cars.

The 348 TS is completley slammed to the floor, the subframe which protects the engine block and transmission is only a few millimeters away from touching the ground.

Even at driving height is still incredibly low. I imagine this car is horrible to drive..

But Ginpei-san likes it that way. It puts a big smile on his face. And that’s exactly how a sports car is supposed to make you feel, right?

With few M3 owners taking their BMW to this level, this particular owner has set quite the benchmark. Aside from the performance goodies under the hood, there has been some major aftermarket styling, from Enlaes carbon aero / Carbon Axent canards to headlights designed by OSSdesigns, KW V3 coilovers and a full yellow wrap by Ace Wraps.

Adding the icing on the cake, this car has been aggressively fit with 20×10 and 20×11.5 Brixton Forged R10D Targa Series forged wheels finished with a 120 grit brushed Smoke Black powder.

Have you ever noticed that unlike on street bikes, the MotoGP riders switch gears in the opposite direction? What are the reasons behind this and could it help you as well?

If you have no clue what I’m talking about, see the recordings of the latest MotoGP race in Malaysia that we also covered today. You’ll see the riders push the lever down to make the bike upshift and pull the shift lever up to downshift. Or to be more exact gear 1 is up, then 2, 3, 4, etc. are down. To go from gear 2 -> 1 you shift up and to go from 1 -> 2 you shift down.

Even though the video below is a bit dated with the introduction of the seamless shift gearboxes you can still see the way GP shifter works.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z9kEkOfelw

It might seem like a very weird choice, especially if you’re used to the regular shifts, but after a short explanations you’ll see it is literally the only way they can get the most out of their bikes. To be fair, the last MotoGP rider to use street shift was Chris Vermeulen who left the series in 2009.

Imagine yourself in a fast lefthander turn, leaning over 65 degrees. You’re just past the apex and in this moment you start applying throttle and need to upshift. So try to imagine getting your foot under the shift pedal. There is literally no room to wedge your foot between the pedal and the ground.

It is very rare for the riders to have to down shift in the middle of the corner, if that happens they most likely fubared the entry into the turn and will need to level up to keep themselves on two wheels. On the other hand, it is far more common to upshift as you get past the apex and accelerate out of the turn.

Downshifts are also less likely to mess up the racing lines as they are already applying the brakes and is therefore easier to correct the mistake in comparison with a missed upshift, where the guy behind you will literally obliterate you if not hit you straight in the back of the bike.

It is also worth noting it’s not used just in MotoGP, practically every racing series and track day riders have switched the shift pattern. A lot of bikes also enable you to quickly switch the pattern around by switching the linkage around. Check out yours and see if it could help you get that quick upshift out of the corner!

We’re up to the 7th generation of Volkswagen Golf so a MKIV R32 might not seem as amazing as it once was. Even though it was an engineering masterpiece, it could be dubbed a bit mellow by today’s standards.

That is why a group of car enthusiasts from Kosovo decided to revamp the car with a mind blowing V10 twin turbo setup taken from a C6 Audi RS6.

This is where things started to get a bit crazy, as the 500hp stock engine wasn’t powerful enough to be left untouched. They opted for a custom turbo setup, with exhaust pipes going out through the hood, MAD MAX style!

Still no info on the power of this beast, but it sure can move. Taking it from the video below, it takes 2.5 seconds from 0-100kmh and another 3 seconds from 100-200kmh. It reaches 0-300kmh in 13 seconds flat. For comparison, the new Bugatti Chiron takes 13.6 seconds for the same result! You can see for yourself in the video below posted on Facebook by Gumbal.

What sets the “Desert Gold” Edition apart from the existing Rocket 900 is its gold color scheme. The exterior is colored in the deep gold paint, the black wheels have a gold rim on them, and even the interior gets gold updates. It looks sick in my opinion..

The visual aesthetics are complemented by a beautiful matte gray vinyl wrap and bronze 20-inch alloys, courtesy of ADV.1 wheels. The 1M body-kit is well worth mentioning, including massive air curtains, a carbon fiber splitter, as well as carbon fiber side skirts and a rear diffuser.

That incredible power figure had to be matched by safety equipment, such as a completely new brake system, with yellow brake calipers. The engine received a JB4 tuning-kit, allowing the engine to develop 1024 Nm (755 lb-ft) of torque.

Of course, its natural soundtrack should match the looks and power of the touring BMW, which is why an Akrapovič sport exhaust system, with Bluetooth-controlled valves, have been fitted onto the car. Just listen to that sound..

This BMW E87 1 Series hatchback received a legendary 5.0 liter V10 engine from BMW E60 M5, which in standard form outputs 507 horsepower and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft). The engine is matted to an SMG transmission.

But the owner didn’t stop here. With the help of the guys at KJ-Performance, the car now delivers even more horsepower thanks to a G-POWER Bi-Compressor kit. This kit uses two belt driven ASA superchargers which produce 7.2 psi (0.5 bar) of boost to increase engine output to 750 horsepower! If the car wasn’t crazy before it sure is now. It’s a beast.

Every time you need to get somewhere quickly is exactly when you’ll run into car trouble. But have no fear! Most common car problems are things you can fix with just a few small tools and you can actually save some money by performing these by yourself.

If you can follow basic instructions in your owner’s manual or repair book, you don’t have to be mechanic to perform these simple tasks. So, here are the top 6 most common breakdown issues and ways you can avoid and repair them yourself:

#1 DeadBattery

There are several reasons why a battery will fail to perform, including old age, corroded terminals, extreme driving conditions or if you just left your headlights on and drained the battery over the night.

Replacing your own battery will save you some bucks. Follow your manual’s instructions and wear eye protection. Don’t attempt the installation if you have any doubts about how to disconnect the old battery and connect the new one. It’s also a good idea to carry jumper cables or a jump box in your trunk in case of an emergency.

A pair of jumper cables can get your car started in a matter of minutes. You just need another running car with healthy battery and simply connect the positive lead to the appropriate terminal on the empty battery, connect the negative lead to an engine ground or the chassis (NOT the negative battery terminal) and start your car.

#2 Flat Tire

Often, a flat tire is the result of running over a nail or object that punctures the tire. Of course you can always replace your flat tire with the spare donut in your car, but if you keep a can of tire sealant in your spare tire well, you can temporarily repair the full size tire and inflate it all at once and be on your way. Tire sealant not only covers up the puncture, but it also inflates the tire and allows you to get the car safely to your local mechanic for further repair or replacement.

#3 Headlight Bulb

Replacing your headlight bulbs is easy to perform and normally requires no tools and can be done in a few minutes, especially if you keep a spare pack of bulbs in your glove box.

Every car may differ slightly, so be sure to check your owner’s manual for specific instructions. It’s a bit more complicated if you have sealed-beam headlights, but most halogen headlights have easily removable bulbs behind the lens.

To change headlights on most cars, open your hood and, from the back of the lamp assembly, remove the rubber boot that protects the headlight. Unplug the wire harness and release the clip that holds the bulb in place. Be sure not to touch the glass part of your new bulb with your finger, as the oil from your hand can cause it to burn out prematurely. Replace the bulb in reverse order.

#4 Windshield Wipers

To maintain a safe and clear view through your windshield, you should replace your wipers once a year. For most cars, you only need to replace the rubber blade itself and then reuse the wiper assembly that holds it in place.

To replace the blade, slide the small clip that attaches the blade to the wiper arm down and discard the old blade. Now install your new blade into the same groove, making sure it clicks into place. Easy peasy..

#5 Air Filter Change

Installing a new air filter is literally a “snap”. Many cars have an air filter housing that is secured by clamps that unsnap in seconds. Depending on driving conditions, air filters should be replaced every 15,000 miles (25,000km). Do it more often if you frequently drive in dusty conditions or on dirt roads.

The air filter compartment is one of the first things you see when you pop the hood. It’s either right on top of the engine or off to the side on some fuel-injected motors. After removing the old filter, clean the inside of the compartment. Voila, in a matter of minutes, you’ll save few tens of dollars.

#6 Oil Change

This one is the hardest of all 6 and it takes a little more time than other but it can be still done fairly quickly and without getting too dirty. Check your owner’s manual for the recommended mileage for oil changes and the type and quantity needed. The cost of premium oil is more than offset by the extra protection it provides your engine. When you change the oil, replace the filter at the same time. You’ll also need some basic tools including an adjustable wrench, filter wrench (for older cars) and a sealable container to catch the used oil.

Check your oil level frequently, using the dip stick in the engine compartment. If you ever notice oil leaks under your car, bring your car to a mechanic.

These are simple things you can do to keep your car running smoothly and avoid big repair bills. Sometimes common car problems are as simple to repair as having the right tools on hand. Keeping a pair of jumper cables and a few other small items in your trunk can help you a lot. Pay attention to your gauges and warning lights; your owner’s manual explains the meaning for each. Open the hood occasionally and check fluid levels. All of these are easy to refill.

If you notice a strange noise or smell, get the car to a mechanic as fast as possible. If you can spot a problem early enough, you can fix a small problem that would have developed into a huge one.
